What we collect
Nothing. Idle has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that report on you. The developer cannot see how you use the app, because nothing about your use ever leaves your iPad.
Where your settings live
Your chosen scene, clock face, typeface, colour, layout, widget arrangement, and sound preference are stored on your device using the system’s standard app storage. They are not synced anywhere and are not visible to us.
Photos you add
Idle lets you use your own images as backgrounds. When you choose a photo from your library, a copy is saved inside Idle’s own storage on your device so it can be drawn as a background later. Photos are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with anyone.
Idle only ever sees the specific images you pick. It does not read your photo library, and it does not ask for full library access.
If instead you paste a direct image link, Idle downloads that image from the address you supplied, exactly as a browser would. That request goes to whichever server you pointed it at — we are not involved and receive nothing from it.
Purchases
There are none. Idle is free, with every feature included — no in-app purchases, no subscription, and no ads. Nothing in the app takes payment, so no payment information exists for anyone to handle.
What Idle does not do
- No location. Idle does not request or use your location.
- No camera or microphone. Neither is requested.
- No contacts, calendar, or health data. None of it is touched.
- No network calls of our own. Apart from Apple’s purchase system and any image link you personally paste in, Idle does not contact any server — including ours.
Children
Idle is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. There is nothing to collect.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything: your settings and any photos you added. Nothing is left behind on a server, because nothing was ever sent to one.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
